(Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings)
All classes are 1 hour for 6 weeks.

Manners and
Basic Clicker
(What is Clicker
Training?)
Your dog will learn
basic manners and behaviors including; Sit, Down,
Come when called, Leave It, Drop It, Go to Bed,
Loose leash walking, Stay and More.
Behaviors issues will be
discussed and you will learn how to solve problem
behaviors. We'll also teach the dogs a trick
or two for fun, and to build confidence.
All learning methods are
accomplished through positive methods. These
methods are the same as used by marine mammal and
zoo trainers.
Do not bring your dog to the
first class. You will learn the mechanical
skills necessary to train your dog in the first
class.

training methods and are endorsed by the
John G. Shedd Aquarium. These methods
build a strong relationship between the
owner and dog to make learning rewarding and
fun for all.
NO Choke, Pinch or
Electric Collars are allowed in any
of the classes.

American Kennel Club;
Canine Good
Citizen
This class will prepare you and your dog for the
AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
You will learn and
practice all 10 steps of the CGC test. The last
week of the class you will take the CGC test.
Dogs registering for
this class should know basic skills such as sit, down,
stay and loose leash walking. We will practice
these behaviors and hone our skills the the goal of
passing the CGC test.
Dogs passing the test
will be titled "Canine Good Citizen" through the
American Kennel Club of America.
It is NOT necessary a dog be registered with the AKC
to test and title as a Canine Good Citizen. All
breeds welcome including mixed breeds.

Good Start Puppy Class
Getting a puppy off to a good start is imperative
to your puppy developing into a great dog.
Your puppy will learn
basic behaviors including; Sit, Down, Come
when called, Leave It, Drop It, Go to Bed, Loose leash
walking, Stay, Socialization and More.
We will also discuss
how dogs learn, house training your puppy, nipping,
jumping, problems behaviors, nutrition, grooming, the
importance of puppy play and more.
Do not bring your dog
to the first class. You will learn the
mechanical skills necessary to train your dog in the
first class.

questions
What should I bring
to class?
1) Your dog. (Except
for the first class of Basic Clicker and Puppy class).
2) Lots of yummy treats.
3) A good 'fixed' leash. (Flexi leads are
discouraged)
4) Up to date shot records
5) A mat or dog bed. More details in class.
How do I register
for a class?
You need to fill out and sign the group
class agreement. Mail the completed form to Dog
Stars, 17399 Hilltop Ridge Dr., Eureka MO 63025.
Also be sure to enclose a check for the class.

How do I know I've
been confirmed for a class?
You will receive an email confirming your
registration. If you do not have an email, you
will receive a phone call. Please note Your check will not
be cashed nor your credit card charged until one week
prior to the start of class.
Where are the
classes held?
All classes are held at the training room of the
Veterinary Group of Chesterfield. Located in the
Chesterfield Valley. The training room entrance
is one door to the right of the Vet Clinic. The
address of the Vet Group is 17709 Edison Ave
Chesterfield MO 63005. The Vet Group is approximately
10 miles west of I-270, off of I-64.

Can I get a refund?
There are no refunds after the first class day
starts. Refunds before class begins can be acquired
by calling 314-422-2700. In most cases your un-cashed checked will be returned to you
Can I bring other
family members?
Yes, other immediate family members are welcome.
Including children. All children attending the
class must be able to sit quietly for 60 minutes.
Although dog training related questions are always
welcome from the youngsters.
Are there snow days?
During the winter months it may be required to
cancel some classes due to road conditions. You
will be asked for good contact information on the
first day of class, in case of cancellation.
We will use this information only to notify you of a
class being canceled. |
